Around 16g of DK yarn in 1,2 or 3 festive colours ~ I
used white and red, with a green rib
3.25mm & 4mm needles
Pattern:
Using 3.25 mm needles cast on 63sts for
a newborn baby
Work 8 rows in rib, increasing one
stitch at the end of the last row 64sts
Change to 4mm needles and work 20 rows
in stocking stitch (one row knit, one row purl)
(If you are making a 2colour stripe hat,
change colour after 2 or 4 rows)
Continue in the stripe sequence
throughout ~
