Marianna's Famous Top-Down ~ with Sleeves

Thousands of knitters have enjoyed making my now famous
'All-in-One Baby Top'.
I see them everywhere on the net.
Each one is a little different ~ depending on the yarn used, additional fancy stitches or edgings, and the buttons and trimmings ~ and each and every one of them looks so cute!
It has been my most popular pattern ever.
I have been asked many times for a version with sleeves. I know several people have adapted the pattern - but somehow I just didn't think they looked so cute with sleeves. I have tried over and over to make a pattern I was happy with - and at last my perseverance paid off!
I love the way this looks.     Yipee.........      Hope you all like it too?
Can't wait to see the first one made from my new instructions.

Marianna’s Top-Down with Long Sleeves                        0 – 3 months

Yarn    any DK  (tension 22sts over 4”/10cm)

Needles  – 4mm throughout

Requires 3 small buttons

Worked from the neck downwards

Tips:
·         yfwd – yarn forward seems to be a very UK term – you may know this as yo (yarn over) or yrn (yarn round needle). This makes the buttonholes and also the little eyelet holes on the yoke and at the lower edge

·         m1 (make 1) on row 31 – I do this by knitting into the front & back of a stitch – some knitters pick up the bar of yarn from the previous row – either way will be OK

·         if you are making this for a girl you may prefer to make the buttonholes at the end of the row

Cast on 57sts

Cabled Baby & Toddler Hats

This is the cutest little cabled baby hat!

Cabled Baby Hat

Cabled Baby Hat

Top Tip - if you are new to cabling - then do it this way ........

c4f = cable 4sts (to the front).
You do this by slipping 2sts on to a cable needle and holding this at the front of your work - then knit the next 2sts - before knitting the 2sts from the cable needle. That's it!
