Little Bonnie Earwarmer Headband

 Little Bonnie Earwarmer Headband   ~   For Aran weight OR DK yarn

This is suitable for age 3 months upwards – just adjust the length

 

Little Bonnie Earwarmer Headband knitted in DK


Use Aran weight yarn for a cosy Earwarmer !

Requires:

5mm needles

Aran weight yarn – around 30g

Cable needle

 

Tension:

18sts = 4” (10cm) over stocking stitch

 

Size:

Width – 3½” (9cm)

Length – 12 - 17”  (depending on the size required)


As a rough guide ~

0 – 3 months           12”

3 - 6 months           13”

6 - 12months           14”

1 – 3 years              15”

3 - 12 years            17”

 

 

Or DK yarn for a lighter Earwarmer

Requires:

4mm needles

DK yarn – around 20g

Cable needle

 

Tension:

22sts = 4” (10cm) over stocking stitch

 

Size:

Width – 2¾” (7cm)

Length – 12 - 17”  (easy to adjust)

 

Top Tip ~ C4 means cable 4 stitches– slip the next 2 stitches on to a cable needle and hold at the back or the front of your work (whichever you find easiest). Knit 2sts, then the 2sts from the cable needle.

It doesn’t matter if you cable back or front – as long as you are consistent throughout.

 

Cast on 16sts

 

Row 1:          K4, p2, k4, p2, k4

Row 2:          K6, p4, k6

Row 3:          K4, p2, C4, p2, k4

Row 4:          K6, p4, k6

 

Repeat these 4 rows until your work measures from 12” to 17” from the cast on edge depending on the age of the child – ending after working a Row 3.

 

Cast off

 

Join the cast on and cast off edges with a short seam.  Darn away ends

Clyde Earwarmer Headband

 A cute and very easy to knit Earwarmer Headband ! 

I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing this !

Clyde Earwarmer Headband ~   For Aran weight OR DK yarn 


Use Aran weight yarn for a cosy Earwarmer !

Requires:

5mm needles

Aran weight yarn – around 40g

 

Tension:

18sts = 4” (10cm)

Width – 5” (12.5cm)

Length – 18”  (easy to adjust)

 

 

Or DK yarn for a lighter Earwarmer

Requires:

4mm needles

DK yarn – around 20g

Cable needle

 

Tension:

22sts = 4” (10cm)


Size:

Width – 4” (10cm)

Length – 18”  (easy to adjust)


Cast on 22sts

Row 1:          Knit

Row 2:          K4, p2, k4, p2, k4, p2, k4

Repeat these last 2 rows until your work measure 18” from the cast on edge for an average size woman’s head – ending after working a Row 1.

It is easy to adjust the length.

 

Cast off

Join the cast on and cast off edges with a short seam.  Darn away ends


If you want to have a gathered Earwarmer  ~ 


Front strip

Cast on 6sts

Knit 23 rows

Cast off

Wrap the strip around at the seam of the headband, and join the cast on and cast off edges of the strip together. Put the join of the strip to the back of the headband and secure it with a few stitches 

 

To make other sizes ~  Measure the head, then subtract 3” and work until that length. 


For a smaller size suitable for a child ~ Use DK yarn and 4mm needles

 

CLYDE Earwarmer Headband - Child Size 

Instructions:

Cast on 16sts

Row 1:          Knit

Row 2:          K4, p2, k4, p2, k4

Repeat these last 2 rows until your work measures 12” to 17” from the cast on edge depending on the age of the child – ending after working a Row 1

 

As a rough guide for length ~

3 months                     12”                               6 months                     13”

6 - 12months               14”                               1 – 3 years                  15”

3 - 7 years                   16”                               8 - 12 years                17”

 

For the front strip – use the instructions above (from the teen/adult size)

Karina Headband

 

KARINA Baby Headband


KARINA Baby Headbands                  


Height:       

2¾"  (7cm)


Tension: 

22sts = 4" (10cm)

 

Requires:

DK (8ply) yarn 

4mm needles

 

Pattern:

Cast on 63sts for a baby of around 0 – 3 months 

Cast on 67sts for a baby of around 3 – 6 months 

Cast on 71sts for a baby of around 6 – 9 months 

Cast on 75sts for a baby of around 9 – 12 months 

 

For all sizes ~

1st Row:       S1, knit to end of row

Repeat this row 3 times more

5th Row:       S1, knit to end of row

6th Row:       S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

 

9th Row:     S1, knit to end of row

Repeat this row 5 times more

15th Row:     S1, knit to end of row

16th Row:     S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

 

19th Row:     S1, knit to end of row

Repeat this row 4 times more

Cast off loosely knitwise  (I used a 4.5mm needle to cast off)

Join the seam

 

Front strip

Cast on 6sts

Knit 21 rows

Cast off


Wrap the strip around at the seam of the headband, and join the cast on and cast off edges of the strip together. Put the join of the strip to the back of the headband and secure it with a few stitches 

Darn away ends 

So cute!  


If you want to knit this cute headband in 2 colours  ~ Cast on and work rows 1- 4 in first colour, rows 5 - 8 in the second colour, rows 9 - 14 in first colour, rows 15 - 18 in second colour, rows 19 - 24 in first colour and cast off.
