ANGUS Baby Blanket

Such a sweet little baby blanket :) 



Angus Baby Blanket  

Size:

Width:      17” – 18 “
Around 90g of DK yarn
 

Length:     19”

Tension:

22sts = 4” (10cm)

Requirements:

DK yarn
4mm needles  

Pattern:

Cast on 94sts
Start with a garter stitch border - knit 10 rows

Pattern:

1st Row:      S1, knit to end
2nd Row:      S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5
3rd Row:       S1, k4, * yon, K2, pass the yon over the K2, rep from * to last 5sts, k5
4th  Row:      S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5


Repeat the last 4 rows until you are happy with the length of the blanket (around 17”)

Finish with a garter stitch border – knit 11 rows
Cast off knit wise

Darn away ends



If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~
then reduce or add in multiples of two stitches
........ for a Newborn Baby Blanket of 24 - 25“
cast on 134sts
........ for a Baby Blanket of 29 - 30 “
cast on 160sts

AMALFI Crochet Baby Beanie Hat

I have been enjoying making these cute little hats, and dreaming of a trip along the Amalfi Coast ........





AMALFI Crochet Baby Beanie Hat             0 – 3 months



Requirements:

DK yarn - in 1 main and 2 contrasting colours
4mm crochet hook

Pattern:

This pattern is written in UK terminology.         
ch = chain       tr = treble crochet                  

Worked in the round


Using Main Colour

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:   ch2, work 9tr into ring, slip stitch to join. (10sts)

Round 2:   ch2 then 1tr in same stitch as ch2, 2tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (20sts)

Round 3:   ch2 then1tr in same stitch as ch2,  * 1tr in next stitch, 2tr in next stitch repeat from * all around,  join with slip stitch. (30sts)

Round 4:   ch2 then1tr in same stitch as ch2,  * 1tr in next stitch, 1tr in next stitch , 2tr in next stitch repeat from * all around,  join with slip stitch. (40sts)

Round 5:   ch2, 1tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (40sts)

Round 6:   ch2, 1tr in each stitch all around, increase by one stitch before joining with a slip stitch

Rounds 7, 8 & 9:  Repeat round 6

Using First Contrast Colour

Round 10:    Repeat round 6 

Using Second Contrast Colour
 
Round 11:   Repeat round 6

Using First Contrast Colour

Round 12:    Repeat round 6

Using Main Colour

Work one round of double crochet all around

Fasten off.  Weave in ends.

4mm crochet hook

Using Colour 1

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Knitted Net Gift Pouch

Size:

Width:           ~         4“
Length:         ~         6”

Tension:

21sts = 4” (10cm)

Requirements:

DK yarn  ~  around 10 - 12g
5mm needles  

Pattern:

Cast on 19sts
1st Row:        S1, knit to end
Repeat the 1st Row 4 times more
  
6th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

7th Row:         S1, k1, *yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yon, k1, rep from * to last st, k1
8th Row:        S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows until the knitting measures 11½” from the cast on edge

Next Row:     S1, knit to end
Repeat the last row 4 times more

Cast off

Join the side seams

To make the cord tie ~

Cast on 90sts
Cast off
Weave away ends

Thread the cord tie through the second row of holes from the top, and tie in a bow


Knitted in cotton or cotton-mix yarn this makes a practical and pretty soap saver! 



Just knit exactly as above and pop a bar of soap inside.
