What does kfb mean?
ReplyDeleteKnit front and back
DeleteKFP= you knit in the front of the stitch, don't remove it from the needle, and then insert the needle into the back of the stitch and make a knit stitch again. It's a way to increase a stitch.
Deleteplease help me what does psso, yfrd
ReplyDeletepsso is when you slip a stitch than knit one, than you pass that slipped stitch over the slipped one, that's it
DeletePSSO = Pass slip stitch over see demo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fawfawf9EK0&nohtml5=False
ReplyDeleteYFRD = Yarn Forward (as if to make a purl stitch) see Demo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHGYU8xv1LU
Happy knitting
when you cast off 2 does the st left on the needle count as one of the next lot to knit? I not how do u cast of inbetween
ReplyDeleteThe pattern calls for Yrn to add stich, when I looked it up, all of the videos were with purl stitches. In your pattern it says to knit, Do I wrap opposite the videos showing purl? Or would I just use a YO?
ReplyDeleteA little confused with this.
ReplyDeleteWhat size is DK yarn?
Is the abbreviation "yrn" the same as a yarnover? The explanation is a bit confusing to me, and I need to clarify.
ReplyDeleteI am confused with the knitting instructions for the Newborn Baby Mittens. In the 9th row, it says: S1, K1, *yrn, K3, slip the first stitch of these three stitches over the 2nd and 3rd stitches. I am not sure how to do this part. I would greatly appreciate any help with this from anyone who has knitted this mitten pattern. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to start on the body of this lovely sweater. I have knit the first 2 rows and am ready to start the pattern but I do not know what S1 means. Any help would be gratefully accepted. Thank you in advance.
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth. S1 is slip 1 stitch.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the difference between "yarn over", "yarn over needle" and "yarn round needle", please?
ReplyDeleteThese terms all make an extra stitch. Different knitters in different parts of the world use different terns - but as long as you are making an extra stitch, then that is all that really matters.
DeleteKnitwise x
ReplyDeleteWhat is the reason to S1 (slip 1) at beginning of each row on the Bella blanket? What ply wool is DK?
ReplyDeleteWHAT DOES C4F MEAN, PLEASE/
ReplyDeleteslip 2 stitches onto cable needle, hold in front of work, knit next 2 stitches, then knit 2 off cable needle.
Deletewhat does **to*** four times more mean?
ReplyDeleteIt means to repeat the instructions between ** and *** however many times it says.
DeleteWould it be possible to include some 'sewing up' instructions. I have made a couple of jackets with sleeves and am not sure how to join the underarm to the body. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat is DK yarn???
ReplyDeleteBaby Ugg booties uses instruction to kE- what is that?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the abbreviations. Your Nevis baby hat and jacket are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI assume that a capital S in the beginning of a row means slip one. Am I correct?
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting the babbity hat. Pattern says S1, p to last st, k1. Is the slip purl or knit?
ReplyDeleteHi Marriana Can you please explain how to cast of stitch s at end of row
ReplyDeleteTo cast off 3sts at the end of a row ~
DeleteYou work across the row until you have 3sts on your left hand needle. Knit the first st, knit the second st, and pass the first over the second. Knit the last st and pass the second st over it. You will now have a loop - cut the yarn and pull it through the loop. Easy !
I am knitting the Adult Cabled Hat. What is the right side? Even or odd rows? Thank you
ReplyDeleteI am making the basket weave blanket and it says S1 at the beginning of each row. Does that mean slip the first stitch on each row. Why is this??
ReplyDeleteWhat is DK yarn? I noticed others have the same question!, Thank you!
ReplyDeleteDK is a UK yarn weight - you may know this as light worsted or yarn weight #3 .
DeleteIt knits to a tension/gauge of 22sts = 4" (10cm)
Hi Marianna,I am finishing of one of your mystery knits, how do I cast off 2 stitches of in the middle of a row and cast on 2 on the following row
ReplyDeleteJust the same as you would on a buttonhole band for a cardigan (if you have done that before?). Instructions are - K3, cast off 2sts, k2 . So K3 then knit 2 further stitches and put the first over the second of these 2sts to cast it off, knit another stitch and pass the previous stitch over it. You will have 2sts left on your left-hand needle so k2 🙂.
DeleteOn the next row - K3, cast on 2sts, K3. So, k3 then depending on the method of cast on you use either cast on 2stitches - or turn your work, cast on 2sts, turn your work back, and carry on. I hope it is helpful. M
In the Kenzie Baby Onesie you use the abbreviation “ym “ which I do t see in the abbreviations list. Or is it supposed to be “yrn “ and I’m misreading it?
ReplyDeletey r n :) yarn round needle
