CUFF
Using contrast colour, cast on 29sts
1st Row:
S1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2
2nd Row:
S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end
Repeat last 2 rows 5 more
Cut off contrast colour and join in main colour
HAND
1st Row:
Knit
2nd Row: Purl - inc in the first and last stitches (31sts)
3rd Row:
Knit
4th Row: and all following even rows – Purl
5th Row:
K14, inc in next 2 sts,
k15 (33sts)
7th Row:
K14, inc in next st, k2, inc
in next st, k15 (35sts)
9th Row:
K14, inc in next st, k4, inc
in next st, k15 (37sts)
11th Row: K14,
inc in next st, k6, inc in next st, k15 (39sts)
13th Row: K14, inc in next st, k8, inc in next st,
k15 (41sts)

Working on these centre 11sts only work a further 5
rows
Next row: K2tog,
k2tog, k2tog, k2tog, k3tog
Cut off yarn leaving a tail. Draw a needle through
these 5sts. Draw up tightly and fasten off.
TOP
With wrong side facing, rejoin yarn to last 15sts
left on the needle, purl 15
Continue on 30sts, - work 4 rows
