Requirements:

DK yarn

4mm crochet hook

 

Size:

Width:                  2“
Height:                 2¾“

 

Pattern:

 

This pattern is written in UK terminology      

 

ch = chain    dc = double crochet          

htr = half treble crochet     tr = treble crochet    dtr = double treble crochet        

    

 

Worked in the round

 

Chain 4 , join with a slip stitch into a ring

 

Round 1:   ch2, make 11tr into ring, slip stitch to join. (12sts)

 

Round 2:   ch2 then 1tr in same stitch as ch2, 2tr in next st, 1tr and 1htr in next st, 2htr in next st, 1htr and 1tr in next st, 1tr and 1 dtr in next st, 2dtr in next st, 1dtr and 1tr in next st, 1tr and 1 htr in next st, 2htr in next st, 1htr and 1tr in next st, 2tr in next st, join with slip stitch. (24sts)

 

Round 3:   ch1 and 1dc into same stitch, 2dc in next stitch, 1dc in next 9 stitches, 2dc in next stitch, 2dc in next stitch, 1dc in next 9 stitches, 2dc in next stitch, 2dc in next stitch, join with slip stitch. (29sts)

 

 

Fasten off.  Weave in ends

Worked in the round

 

Chain 4 , join with a slip stitch into a ring

 

Round 1:   ch2, make 11tr into ring, slip stitch to join         (12sts)

 

Round 2:   ch2 then tc in same stitch as ch2, 2tc in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch  (24sts)

 

Round 3:   ch11 and then slip stitch into the fist ch to make a loop, slip stitch across next 4 stitches, ch11 and then slip stitch into the fist ch to make a loop

 

Continue with the ears ~

Turn the work and make 15 dc in the loop for the first ear, slip stitch across to the other ear, make 15 dc in the loop for the second ear

 

Fasten off.  Weave in ends

Add a little face with a length of dark yarn

Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband

 

Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband


My Warm Tweedy Neckwarmer, Hat and Mittens are very popular ~ and I thought a matching Earwarmer would be cute too.  

It is so quick and simple to knit........ and so cosy! 


Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband

Use 2 strands of DK yarn (8ply) knitted together ~ or any combination of yarns to make a total of 16ply.               This gives a nice ‘tweedy’ look

(Or use one strand of UK chunky weight yarn)

6½ mm needles

 

Tension:

14sts = 4” (10cm) over stocking stitch

 

Size:

Width – 5” (13cm)

Length – 16 - 18”  (depending on the size required)

 

Instructions:

Cast on 17sts

1st Row:  K1, *k3, p1, repeat from * to last 4sts, k4

2nd Row:  K2, *p1, k3 repeat from * last 3sts, p1, k2

Repeat these two pattern rows until around 18”, ending after completing a 1st row

Cast off 

Join the cast on and cast off edges with a short seam.  Darn away ends

Wrap a length of yarn around the join to gather the Earwarmer if desired.

Babbity Jacket - Chunky Version

My Babbity Baby Jacket is very popular !  

From month to month, it is always in the 'Top 5' of favourited designs. 

Recently one of the members of my facebook page knitted a chunky version with a hood! It is lovely ! - and too good not to share !

Cast off

Sleeves ~ Both Alike
Put the 34sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle.  Rejoin yarn.
With right side facing –

Knit 6 rows
Row 7          K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog    (32sts)
Knit 7 rows
Repeat the last 8 rows 4 times more   (24sts)
Knit 28 more rows without any further shaping - work should now measure around 10" - it is easy to adjust the length here  
Cast off knitwise

Make the second sleeve in the same way
Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms
Darn away ends
Turn back cuffs

Sew on buttons


Garter stitch hood (optional) ~

With the Right Side facing, pick up and knit 49sts from the neck cast on - (skipping the first 3sts and last 4sts of the neck cast on)

 

Row 1:             K23, kfb, k1, kfb, k23                         (51sts)

Rows 2, 3 & 4:           Knit

Row 5:            K24, kfb, k1, kfb, k24                         (53sts)

Rows 6, 7 & 8:           Knit

For the Ombre effect ~ I believe the colour change rows are 37 and 59 for the body

Hearts of Appreciation

I have been busy making cute little hearts to give out when all this isolation is over ! 

Just a little token of my appreciation - for kindness shown to me, and to my family. 



Crochet Hearts of Appreciation

DK yarn
3.5mm or 4mm hook

Instructions   ~  in UK terminology
Chain 4, and join into a circle with a slip stitch
Chain 3, 1 treble crochet, 3 double treble crochet, 7 treble crochet, 3 double treble crochet, 1 treble crochet, chain 3, slip stitch into ring
Chain 3, 1 double crochet  into next stitch, 2 double crochet in next 4 stitches, 1 double crochet in next 3 stitches, (1 double crochet, 1 half treble crochet, 1 double crochet) in next stitch, 1 double crochet in next 3 stitches, 2 double crochet  in next 4 stitches, ch3, join into ring with a slip stitch

The ends can be tied to make a little hanging loop if desired.





I am thinking I might add a little 'Thank You' tag or label....
