ReplyDeleteThank you for the patterns. I am keen to start knitting now but am not quite sure what kfb means. I presume it is an increase.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your reply.
Hi Ina. kfb = knit front & back ........ you knit into the front and then into the back of the same stitch before taking it off the needle. This makes an increase by adding a stitch. Hope this helps. Happy knitting. M
Deletethank ffor sharing your patterns. I too am wondering what KFB means, ai guess in different countries it will mean different things. I hope You will enlighten us.
ReplyDeleteKFB = knit front and back.
DeleteYou do this by knitting into the front of the stitch, then knitting into the back of the stitch before taking it off the needle.
This makes an increase of one stitch. You could use a different increase if you prefer ...... as long as you are adding one stitch it will be fine. Very best wishes. M
thankyou for sharing grandchild due in 1week

ReplyDeleteCould you tell me which yarn you used, as in wool, cotton, acrylic, etc. I know you have indicated DK, which in Australia means 8ply. I am going to knit a lot of these sets and send to local hospitals. Thank you in advance. Wendy

ReplyDeleteI belong to an Australian foundation called Life's Little Treasures Foundation. We are a not-for-profit foundation run by parents who have all had premature babies, who support families with premature and sick children. One thing we like to do is send packs to these families while their babies are in hospital, and I have been looking for a nice knitting pattern which looks great, has accurate sizing, and has no ties which can come undone or get caught on anything. Your Little Babbity Premature Baby Set ticks all the boxes, so is it possible for us to publish this pattern on our website so that our members can knit these items for our packs? We would of course acknowledge your name and your site.
ReplyDeleteThanking you, Cathy Hill
Thank you Marianna, for these beautiful patterns. I knit to donate to my local hospital unit for premie babies.

ReplyDeleteThank you for all these lovely and simple patterns. I knit them for a local preemie unit and have been doing these as therapy for my shoulders and hands following an accident. I knit a set of hat, mittens, bootees and coat in one colour and full sets of different colours. They are always very well received. Thanks for helping me to help them

ReplyDeleteHello. I just have been asked to make some premiture baby blanket to do and bonding squares. I am delighted to say that I have found your site! It is telling how big is the bonding squares! Brilliant. I did not think it would be big, so now I know I can knit, although I do prefer crocheting because of my hands that I do suffer bad. It feel like crocheting is not too bad to do. I am very greatful for your patterns and I will use it to make for those unfortunate parents who do have to stay in Hospital. Thank you very much. God bless your kindness to be able to use it. Best wishes : Julie
ReplyDeleteSo grateful for being able to use these lovely patterns. They are a pleasure to knit. At the moment I'm knitting them for the NICU at Bristol hospital. xx
ReplyDeleteHi I love knitting your patterns but due to an auto immune disease my hands become very painful and stiff so smaller items are best to do. Thank you and I hope local neo natal unit like them .

Hi Marianna
ReplyDeleteI am from South Africa. Thanks so much for all these beautiful free patterns. My hearts desire was always to in some way to reach out to babies and children in foster homes. South Africa has many homes for abandoned babies and children. My dad passed away on 18 July 2019 at the age of 83 and he has inspired me to do this as he had a special place in his heart for abandoned children. My dad was in foster care, but he was privileged and blessed to reach out the underprivileged in his community. Thank you once again for sharing your amazing patterns. God bless. Kind regards. Debbie
Thank you so much for this. Our Special Care Unit in Exeter England have placed an appeal on Facebook so I am knitting something for Christmas. God bless you. Hilda
