Baby Doll's Babbity Jacket and Hat 

 

This cute little Jacket and Hat set will fit a baby doll of around 12" - 13" in length.


Babbity Baby Jacket    ~        Extra-Small Premature / Baby Doll

         

Size:
Width:           5" (10” all around)

Length:         5"


Tension: 

22sts = 4" (10cm)

 

Requires:

Around 20 - 25g of DK (8ply) yarn
4mm needles

2 small buttons

Instructions:

Cast on 37sts

Rows 1 & 2      Knit

Row 3              K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row

Rows 4, 5 & 6  Knit

Row 7              K6, kfb, k1, kfb, k2, kfb, k1, kfb, k8, kfb, k1, kfb, k2, kfb, k1, kfb, k7            (45sts)

Row 8              Knit

Row 9              K7, kfb, k1, kfb, k4, kfb, k1, kfb, k10, kfb, k1, kfb, k4, kfb, k1, kfb, k8

Row 10            Knit

Row 11            K8, kfb, k1, kfb, k6, kfb, k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k1, kfb, k6, kfb, k1, kfb, k9

Row 12            Knit

Row 13            K9, kfb, k1, kfb, k8, kfb, k1, kfb, k14, kfb, k1, kfb, k8, kfb, k1, kfb, k10

Row 14            Knit

Row 15            K10, kfb, k1, kfb, k10, kfb, k1, kfb, k16, kfb, k1, kfb, k10, kfb, k1, kfb, k11

Row 17            K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), k7, kfb, k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k1, kfb, k18, kfb, k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k1, kfb, k12

Row 21            K15, slip next 19sts onto a stitch holder, k25, slip next 19sts onto a stitch holder, k15

Row 22          Knit                                                                    (55sts) 

Row 23          Knit

Row 24          K4, purl to last 4sts, k4       

Repeat the last 2 rows six times more

Knit 5 rows

Cast off loosely knitwise


Short Sleeves ~ Both Alike

Put the 19sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.

Knit 5 rows

Cast off

Make the second sleeve in the same way

 

OR

Long Sleeves ~ Both Alike        

Put the 19sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.
Knit 1 row

Row 2           K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog                  (17sts)

Knit 19 rows, or until the sleeve measures around 3“

Cast off

Make the second sleeve in the same way

 

Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms

Darn away ends

 

Sew on 2 small buttons

 

 

Babbity Baby Hat      ~        Extra-Small Premature

 

Size:
Width:           3" (6” all around)

Length:         3"

 

Tension: 

22sts = 4" (10cm)


Requires:

Around 5g of DK (8ply) yarn

4mm needles

 

Instructions:

Using 4mm needles & DK yarn, cast on 33sts

Knit 12 rows

Row 13:        S1, knit to end of row 

Row 14:        S1, purl to last st, k1 

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

Row 17:           S1, knit to end of row

Row 18:           K2tog, purl to last 2sts, k2tog                           (31sts)

 

Shape Top ~

Row 19:      *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                    (25sts)

Row 20:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 21:      *K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                    (19sts)

Row 22:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 23:      *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                    (13sts)

Row 24:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 25:      *K2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                          (7sts)                             

Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining loops and secure

 

Sew up side seam and darn away ends.

Length:         8½ - 9”


Tension: 

22sts = 4" (10cm)

 Around 26 - 30g of DK (8ply) yarn

4mm needles

4 buttons


Instructions:
