Crochet Flower Hanging Decorations

These cute little crochet flowers are simple and quick to make - 

and the added cord means that they can easily be hung as a sweet decoration. 

There are 2 versions ~ 6 petals or 7 petals.


Crochet Flower Hanging Decorations ~ 6 petal and 7 petal flowers

DK yarn

4mm hook


This pattern uses UK terminology


6 Petal Flower:

6 Petal Crochet Flower Hanging Decorations

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1: ch2, make 11tc into ring, slip stitch to join (12sts)

Round 2: ch2, 4tc into same stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, 5tc into next stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, continue around, chain 16 for the hanging cord. Slip stitch to close and fasten off

 

7 Petal Flower:

7 Petal Crochet Flower Hanging Decorations


Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1: ch2, make 13tc into ring, slip stitch to join (14sts)

Round 2: 1dc in each stitch all around, slip stitch to join

Round 3: ch2, 6tc into same stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, 7tc into next stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, continue around, chain 20 for the hanging cord. Slip stitch to close and fasten off

DOTTIE BABY BLANKET      


Requires ~

DK yarn   ~ around 70g for the preemie / doll size – around 350g for a 30” blanket

4mm needles


Tension / Gauge ~

22sts = 4” (10cm), as worked over pattern

 


Dottie Baby Blanket

 

For a 16” small preemie baby or doll blanket cast on 89sts

For a 19" preemie blanket cast on 105sts

For a 22” small newborn baby blanket cast on 121sts

For a 25” newborn baby blanket cast on 137sts

For a 30” baby blanket cast on 165sts

To make this blanket bigger (or smaller) you will need to cast on in (multiples of 4) + 1

 

Instructions ~

Cast on 89sts ~ or the number you require for the size you wish to make, as advised above

Work a Border ~

Row 1:   S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

Repeat this row eleven times more

 

Main Pattern ~

Row 13:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, knit to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Row 14:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, purl to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

 

Row 17:         S1, (k1, p1) 4 times, *k3, p1, repeat from * to last 8sts, k1, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Row 18:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, purl to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

 

Row 19:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, knit to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Row 20:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, purl to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

 

Row 23:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, *k3, p1, repeat from * to last 10sts, k3, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

Row 24:         S1, (k1, p1) 3 times, purl to last 7sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, k1

 

Repeat the pattern rows (Rows 13 – 24) until your blanket is around the same length as it’s width, finishing after completing a full pattern repeat (ie. after working a Row 24)

Then repeat Rows 13 – 16 once more


Work a border ~

Next Row:   S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

Repeat this last row ten times more

Cast off
