Team Colours Creme Egg Hats


I wanted to knit some Easter Egg hats in team colours as an alternative to Cute Easter Bunnies and Chicks. 
Why not make some for the sports fans in your family ?

Team Colours Creme Egg Hats                    For Cadbury’s Crème Eggs

Width:  2¼“            Height:  2¼“


Requires:
DK yarn in appropriate colours
3.25mm needles


Egg Cosy in 2 colours ~

Using first colour DK yarn & 3.25mm needles ~

Cast on 24sts

Knit 4 rows

Add in second colour (do not cut off the first colour, just carry it loosely up the side)

Using second colour ~

Knit a row
Purl a row

Using first colour ~

Knit a row
Purl a row

Repeat the last 4 rows twice more

Cut off second colour and continue in first colour ~


Shape Top ~

Row 17:        K2tog across the row                            (12sts)

Row 18:        P2tog across the row                            (6sts)

Cut the yarn leaving a short ‘tail’.

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining stitches and secure

Sew up seam

Add a little ready-made bobble onto the top

Pop a chocolate egg inside and gift to a family member or friend !

Spring Flowers ~ Primulas, Little Blossom Flowers & Forget Me Nots


Sweet little crochet flowers to celebrate Spring ~ 


and a lovely addition for your projects !

Requirements:

DK yarn  
3.5mm crochet hook


Pattern:

This pattern is written in UK terminology.         
ch = chain       tr = treble crochet           dc = double crochet       




Primulas  (6 petals)

Using yellow ~

Chain 4, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:  ch2, work 5dc into ring, slip stitch to join.  (6sts)

Cut off yellow – join in petal colour ~

Round 2:  ch3, 1tr, ch3, into any stitch, slip stitch into same stitch, *slip stitch into next st, ch3, 1tr into same stitch, ch3, slip st into same stitch*, repeat from * to * 4 times more   (6 petals in total)

Fasten off

     


Little White Blossom Flowers (5 petals)

Using yellow ~

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:  ch2, work 4dc into ring, slip stitch to join.  (5sts)

Cut off yellow – join in white ~

Round 2:  ch3, 1tr, ch3, into any stitch, slip stitch into same stitch, *slip stitch into next st, ch3, 1tr into same stitch, ch3, slip st into same stitch*, repeat from * to * 3 times more   (5 petals in total)

Fasten off




Forget Me Not  Flower (5 petals)


Using yellow ~

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:  ch2, work 4dc into ring, slip stitch to join.  (5sts)

Cut off yellow – join in blue ~

Round 2:  ch3, 1tr, ch3, into any stitch, slip stitch into same stitch, *slip stitch into next st, ch3, 1tr into same stitch, ch3, slip st into same stitch*, repeat from * to * 3 times more   (5 petals in total)

This pattern has instructions for 4 sizes - to suit a range of baby dolls.

Top Tip ~ if you do not want to add elastic or ribbon - omit the eyelet row and work a row 1 instead. To give a better grip you may need to use a smaller size of needles for the rib if you do it this way.

Requires DK yarn and 4mm needles
Size 1 ~ around 6g
Size 2 ~ around 8g
Size 3 ~ around 10g

Size 4 ~ around 12g
