Ladies Ribbed Hat |
This design is super easy!
And because ribbing is stretchy, they will fit all ladies sizes.
Why not make several in your favourite colours ??
And for the festive season ~ these hats look great in sparkle yarn
Ladies Ribbed Hat & Fingerless Mittens
Requires~
DK (8ply) yarn
4mm needles
Hat
Cast on 92sts
1st Row: S1, k2, * p2, k2, repeat from *to last st, k1
2nd Row: S1, p2, * k2, p2, repeat from * to last st, k1
Repeat the last 2 rows 25 times more
It is easy to adjust the hat height here ~ by increasing or decreasing the number of rows
To shape the crown:
Row 1: S1, k2, * p2tog, k2, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 2: S1, p2, * k1, p2, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 3: S1, k2, * p1, k2, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 4: S1, p2, * k1, p2, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 5: S1, k2tog, * p1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 6: S1, p1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 7: S1, k1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 8: S1, p1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 9: K2tog all across row to last st, k1 24sts
Row 10: P2tog all across row 12sts
Row 11: K2tog all across row 6sts
Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.
With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining loops and secure
Sew up side seam and weave in ends.
Add some cute buttons or small pom-poms if desired.

on 36sts
1st
Row: S1, k2, * p2, k2, repeat from *
to last st, k1
2nd
Row: S1, p2, * k2, p2, repeat from *
to last st, k1
Repeat
the last 2 rows 25 times more
Cast
off loosely.
Sew
up the side seam leaving a gap for the thumb.
Make another mitten the same.
