This sweet little Angel Gown can be fastened with either 3 tiny
buttons ~ or a length of ribbon.
If you are using the ribbon closers – omit the buttonholes from
rows 3, 19 and 35
Cast on

Rows 1
& 2 Knit
Row 3 K2, yrn, k2tog (this makes a
buttonhole), knit to end
Rows 4
& 5 Knit
Row 6 K4, purl to last 4sts, k4
Row 7 K6, *(yfwd, k1, yfwd, k2) rep from * to last 4sts,k4 55sts
Row 8 K4, purl to last 4sts, k4
Row 9 K6, *(yfwd, k3, yfwd, k2) rep from * to last 4sts, k4 73sts
Row 10 K4, purl to last 4sts, k4
Row 11 K6, *(yfwd, k5, yfwd, k2) rep from * to last 4sts, k4 91sts

(Work should now measure around 8“
from the cast on edge – it is easy to adjust the length here)

Darn away ends
Add 3 tiny buttons ~ or ~ cut a length of ribbon
into 4 pieces and sew 2 pieces on either side of back edges at the neck and
bottom of the yoke.

i am terrible at editing patterns (nor do i want to).. is there a way to add a few rows of knitted lace to make this into a christening gown? i think it would be perfect for that too
