Parma Violet ~ Crochet Baby Jacket

 
So many of you have liked my latest sleeveless crochet baby top ................ and asked for a version with sleeves............... so here it is. Enjoy :)

Size:                        0 -3 months
DK (8ply) yarn   60 -65g main colour, plus a little in a contrasting colour for the borders
4mm hook 
1, 2 or 3 buttons as desired

 
Worked from the top down

Foundation Chain 47
R1:  Tc in third ch from hook, tc in every chain to end.   45sts
R2:  Ch2, turn, tc in second st, * 2tc in next st, tc in next 3sts * repeat from * to * to last 3 sts, 2tc in next st, tc in next 2sts        (56sts)
R3:  Ch2, turn, tc in first st, 1tc,  * 2tc in next st, tc in next 4sts * repeat from * to * to last 4 sts, 2tc in next st, tc in next 3sts     (68sts)
R4:  Ch2, turn, tc in first st, 2tc,  * 2tc in next st, tc in next 5sts * repeat from * to * to last 5 sts, 2tc in next st, tc in next 4sts     (80sts)

Divide for the armholes

Repeat R9, 8 or 9 times more until the jacket is the required length.
Cut yarn and finish off.
 
For the sleeves  (make both alike)
Rejoin yarn to 23sts for the sleeve – tc across 23sts PLUS one st at each side, slip stitch to join      (25sts)
Work 2 rounds on these 25sts
Decrease one st on next round                                                                                                               (24sts)
Work 2 more rounds on these 24sts
Decrease one st on next round                                                                                                               (23sts)

Using a contrast colour,  dc all around jacket and both sleeve edges. Finish off.
