Christmas Appliqués |
These only require a little yarn in Christmas colours, and can be used to decorate all sorts of projects.
I might well use some of these to make Christmas Cards for a couple of knitting friends.
Adding a few tiny beads or sequins might look good too !

Christmas Stocking Applique
Height: 2¼“

yarn in the colour of your choice
3.5mm

Cast on 7sts
Knit 2 rows
Change colour if desired ~
Beginning with a knit row, work in stocking stitch
(one row knit, one row purl) for 10 rows
Shape heel as follows -
Row 1: K3, turn
Row 2: P3, turn
Row 3: K4, turn
Row 4: P4, turn
Row 5: K5, turn
Row 6: P5,
turn
Row 7: K5,
k2tog
Row 8: P6
Row 9: K6
Row 10: P6
Shape toe as follows -

Break off yarn and fasten off

green yarn cast on 18sts
Knit
1 row
Cast
off loosely (if you find this difficult use a larger needle)
Cut
off yarn
Join
into a circle, and catch it together with a couple of stitches
Darn
away ends
Add
a little bow made with a short length of red yarn. Tie a knot at each end to
prevent the yarn from unravelling
Add
a few sequins or tiny beads to decorate if desired
