Marianna's Medium Knitted Flowers

Marianna's Medium Size Knitted Flowers

Many knitters will enjoy making these sweet knitted flowers to embellish their projects.

I used DK yarn and 4mm needles, and each flower measures 3" in diameter.

The small flower is to show the difference in size
from my existing pattern for small flowers.

Marianna’s Medium Knitted Flower       7petals
Cast on 91sts
Row 1:   Knit across row
Row 2:   K1, cast off 11sts (2sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (4sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (6sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (8sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (10sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (12sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 11sts (14sts on right hand needle)

Row 3:   K2tog across row
Cut the yarn leaving a 6” tail
Thread the tail through each of the remaining 7sts and pull tight. Make a little stitch to catch it and keep it pulled together
Arrange the petals to shape the flower
Use the tail from the cast on to join the first and last petals
Add a button to the centre
Sew in ends

  2. I fed the tail through the stitches from the opposite end, and pulled it tight, it makes a little crochet style effect in the centre, GORGEOUS!
