I wanted to write a pattern for a simple and sweet burial gown that would be suitable for boys too -
most of the patterns I found looked quite feminine.
So sad that these are needed - but I really hope this will bring comfort to a family at such a sad time in their lives.

Width: 5", (10" all around)
Length: 8½" (easy to adjust)
Tension:
22sts = 4" (10cm)
Requires:
Around 28g of DK (8ply) yarn
4mm needles
2 buttons for the back (and 3 buttons for the front - optional)
Using blue ~ Cast on 37sts
Rows
1& 2 Knit
Row 3 K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row
Row 4 Knit
Row 3 K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row
Row 4 Knit
Cut off
blue, join in white ~

Put the 19sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.

Cast off
Make the second sleeve in the same way
Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms
Darn away ends
Sew on buttons
