    1. Hi Primrose - I used DK yarn and 4mm needles. But this design would work out fine in other yarn weights too (with the appropriate size needles) :)
      Happy knitting. M

  5. Thank you for such a sweet little pattern. I knit for the local hospice charity shop and these will go down a storm! I'm hoping I can fit a Cadbury's cream egg in them instead of the mini eggs too. Thanks so much for sharing x

  8. Dear Marianna, these look so awesome. I am new to knitting and I just love your patterns. Since i am new so pls forgive if i ask stupid questions. In the above you say "1st Row:*K8, k2tog,repeat from * to last st, k1 (37sts)". My question is if repeat till last stitch then how can we do K1 in the end??? Or will the sequence always end with an extra stitch which we will pearl? Kindly dooo reply. Thanks a lot!!!!

    1. when a pattern instructs you to follow directions to the last stitch, that means that you only do it until you come to the last stitch, that particular row has a 10 count stitch pattern and a 41 stitch cast on, therefore you will follow the pattern 4x with 1 stitch left at the end to complete the row.

  12. When it says knit to last stick then knit, you will do you last k2tog from the pattern and then will have one stitch remaining on your needle, this stitch you will knit. Then you will start row 2!

  15. I've been looking for little knit baskets and until now I'd only found felted ones so I'm very happy seeing this :) I feel silly asking this, but I'm not sure how this goes together. Seam the flat yarn that's for the body so i makes a circle? How do you stiffen it so it stays upright on the base? Also how do you connect the body to the bottom? I'd love to make these as soon as I can, they're so cute and perfect! Thanks a lot!
