These will be cute little Easter gifts ~ some with a chocolate egg inside - others with a large hard-boiled egg! I have very happy memories of decorating these when I was a girl - then rolling them down a hill along with all my sister, cousins and friends. Simple pastimes in those simpler days gone by. I wonder if children still do that? I always loved Easter time as a girl ..... not just for the chocolate ..... but also because it meant I would have a new dress (handmade by my Mum) and a pair of summer sandals.
Also ~ looking back I am sure Cadbury Crème Eggs used to be much bigger! When did they get so small?
I used DK (8ply) yarn and smaller size needles to make these. This gives a denser fabric and the contents do not show through so much. Toy makers often use this technique too.

They are so cute Marianna and make a change from the hens. You are right the cadbury's eggs have got smaller and more expensive. :) xx
ReplyDeleteThey're little faces are nice and simple though! I love
ReplyDeletethem.
Cheers, Anita.
Thank you for this pattern
ReplyDeleteThese make a nice change from chick baskets which I have made loads of over the years. Also can use any colour wool not just yellow cream or white.
ReplyDeleteLove these... so easy to knit up and the tail on the back makes it look very "sweet".
