Mama & Me Mittens

Sometimes the simplest things can be beautiful.
 
What could be more perfect than a little hand holding yours as you walk down the street?
 
Especially in matching mittens.
 
Moments like these should be treasured forever.

Left Mitten


CUFF

Using DK yarn and 4mm needles ~

Cast on 43sts

1st Row:            S1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

2nd Row:            S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end

Repeat last 2 rows 8 times more


HAND

1st Row:             Knit                 

2nd Row:             Purl - inc in the first and last stitches                  (45sts)

3rd Row:             Knit

4th Row:             and all following even rows – Purl    

5th Row:             K17, inc in next 2 sts, k26                                   (47sts)

7th Row:             K17, inc in next st, k2, inc in next st, k26            (49sts)

9th Row:             K17, inc in next st, k4, inc in next st, k26            (51sts)

11th Row:           K17, inc in next st, k6, inc in next st, k26            (53sts)

13th Row:           K17, inc in next st, k8, inc in next st, k26            (55sts)

Purl across row                                                                         (8sts)

Cut off yarn leaving a tail. Draw a needle through these 8sts. Draw up tightly and fasten off.


TOP

With wrong side facing, rejoin yarn to last 18sts left on the needle, purl 18

Continue on 44sts, - work 22 rows
