Little Knitted Christmas Tree Decorations

I have had so much fun making these little Christmas Trees today ......

they would make cute decorations if you add a little hanging cord.

I think I will make a few Christmas cards by sticking one of these onto coloured cardboard. Who wouldn't love that?

Little Knitted Christmas Tree Decorations

Xmas Tree – Knit

 

Tree height ~ 4” (10cm)

I made these cute little trees using DK (8ply) yarn & 4mm needles

(but smaller or larger trees can easily be made by changing the yarn thickness used)

 

Using white or green yarn, cast on 2sts
Row 1              Kfb, k1
Row 2              K3
Row 3              Kfb, kfb, k1
Row 4              K5
Row 5              Kfb, k2, kfb, K1
Row 6              K7
Row 7              Kfb, k4, kfb, k1
Row 8              K9

Row 9              Kfb, k6, kfb, k1
Row 10            K11
Row 11            Cast off 3sts, knit to end
Row 12            Cast off 3sts, knit to end
Repeat Rows 5 – 10
Row 19            Kfb, k8, kfb, k1
Row 20            K13
Row 21            Cast off 3sts, knit to end
Row 22            Cast off 3sts, knit to end
Repeat Rows 7 - 10
Row 27            Kfb, k8, kfb, k1
Row 28            K13
Row 29            Kfb, k10, kfb, k1
Row 30            K15
Row 31            Cast off 5sts, knit to end
Row 32            Cast off 5sts, knit to end

Change to red yarn ~

Knit 5 rows
Cast off

 

Darn away ends
Add tiny beads or sequin embellishments
Add a little hanging cord if desired
