Row 9:

ch3 (counts as first tc), tc in next tc, * 2tc in next tc, tc in next 2 tc, repeat from * to end

Now join with a slip stitch and continue for the rest of the dress working in rounds  ~

Round 1:

ch3 (counts as first tc), tc in each tc all around

Repeat round 1 until the dress is the length that you desire

(for the blue & white dress I repeated this round 16 times more)

Next round:

ch1, dc in each tc across row.  Fasten off

Neck Edge:

dc all around the neck edge. Fasten off

To finish:

Weave in ends

Add 2 or 3 pretty buttons

Decorate with lace, flowers, motifs, ribbons or bows

This simple baby dress is so easy – once you have made one you can use it as a base
to try out a few variations.

For example  ~

Why not make this little dress in stripes?

Or try adding a shell border…….

For a more lacy effect – work the top as above – then use a cluster stitch for the skirt ….. this looks really great !

Go on have some fun ....

  1. Hello, how much yarn does this roughly take? I'm trying to use up my yarn stash and have some magic knit left but don't want to run out half way through :-) xx
