So many of you have enjoyed making my little all-in-one baby top -
month by month it is my most popular baby design.
I would like to thank those of you who have shared your photos on ravelry - it has been really lovely seeing all the different yarns and colours you have used. And a big thank you too for those who have taken the time to message me to let me know how much you enjoy making it. It really makes my day!
Would you like to make a matching baby beanie hat?

It is lovely to know that my design is being used in this way. Thank you for your message. Best wishes. Marianna
DeleteLove this hat! One question: what does "S1" mean? Thanks
ReplyDeleteSlip 1 - hope this helps.
DeleteHi. I am making my first all in one cardi which I am loving making. Do you have a pattern for the matching beanie in size 1-3 years please?
ReplyDeleteHaven't written this yet, Karen - but I plan to over the next couple of weeks. Glad that you are enjoying knitting the cardi. :)
DeleteCan you tell me what yrn means?
ReplyDeleteHi
Deleteyrn - means yarn round needle - you may know this as yo (yarn over) or yon (yarn over needle)
It makes an eyelet hole. Hope that helps. M
Hi! Do you also have the pattern for a toddler hat? I already made the top for a 15 months old and would love to make her a matching hat! Would it maybe still work just using multiples? This is a great pattern! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kerstin - new size now added for a toddler ........ hope you enjoy making it! Best wishes. M
DeleteWill you be posting the hat for the 4 - 6 year old? I so love your patterns! Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteAlso looking for a pattern for my 7 yr old neice and this is perfect. Help??? I'm still new
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting this pattern! I absolutely love this hat! Is there any way you're considering making a pattern for an adult size? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI would also like to see this pattern done with double pointed needles.
ReplyDeleteHi, your patterns are adorable , when will you post a hat for 4-6 year old? I am knitting your All-in-One sleeveless Top & wants to make a matching Hat.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie and I really like your design :) Slip1 means the stitches is decreasing by 1 each row? or You just slip1 maintaining same number of stitches?
Just finished a hat and came out lovely! Thank you for the pattern. I really enjoyed making it for friend's new baby girl! You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove the patterns thanks for sharing Will be making these shortly as I have new babies on the way
ReplyDeleteThis look absolutely adorable and smashing. I have a new cousin in the UK and mummy would love this.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for such a lovely easy pattern.........i am making them for Preemies UK ........they take so little yarn i can use up left overs from larger knits.
ReplyDeleteAs a new knitter, I thank you for your wonderful easy to read patterns. I have just made the jacket and am now on the hat for a grandson expected in October. I was a crocheter but not much for boys in crochet sp had to learn to knit!. I just love your patterns. I have spent a small fortune buying patterns only to find that they are too complicated for a beginner. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your generosity!
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice patterns but what is the meaing of passo kindly me.
ReplyDeleteThat should be psso, I think, which is pass slip stitch over. So where you slipped one, then knit one (s1, k1), you then pass that slip stitch over the knit stitch to make a decrease.
DeleteI absolutely love your patterns. I have made lots of the cardigans for my friend's little girl Rose, who loves wearing them. I have also started knitting the hats for my local hospital. Thank you for sharing and bringing so much pleasure to other people. X
ReplyDeleteAnnie-Claude,
ReplyDeleteMarianna's Lazy Daisy Days has a group on Facebook. If I join the group, perhaps I could post the modifications there for knitting the hat in the round. Do you use Facebook?
Betty

ReplyDeleteHello Marianna, thank you very much for sharing this pattern. I am just about to finish the all-in-one cardigan (size 1-3 for my daughter) and I thought I should take a look for a matching hat. Great that you anticipated we would all look for a hat to match!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Marianna, i have aquition the row 23:i have 73 sts, when i do s1,k2,yrn slip,k1,psso,k3k2tog,yrn,k5 to end k3.

Hi Marianna!
ReplyDeleteI just knitted your pattern as a gift for my cousin's little girl: https://instagram.com/p/BOvLKBoFtHZ/
Really enjoyed it and so easy to follow, will be sure to try more of your patterns in the future :)
Many thanks,
Sara
thank you for the patterns, yes I was one who made a few of the all in one. Sent one up to a new born last week and it looks good. It good for the days are cooling off now and most want the body warm and keeping the arms free. So thanks again.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design. My first baby cardigan, no need to look further. Came out lovey and mom was very pleased. :) Do you happen to have a matching pair of mittens and socks/booties? thanks again.
ReplyDeleteHi Mariana I love your patterns made many of your designs. Having troubles with this one age 1-3 issue starts here:
ReplyDelete21st Row: S1, k1, * yrn, s1, k1, psso, k5, k2tog, yrn, k3, rep from * to end (ending k2)
I have 85 stitches and so this count doesn't work out for me. Please can you help? Thanks Lynda
hello, i love this pattern and im making the small prem all in one top (37sts) and was wondering if these a hat pattern to match or how many stitches would i cast on to make the hat. Thank you
ReplyDeleteMarianna, These are absolutely gorgeous hats. Thanks for sharing the pattern. Can't wait to knit these and give away as gifts.
ReplyDeleteCannot thank you enough for this pattern.
I love this pattern. I made the wee jacket and matching hat in a baby marble and I was so pleased with the result. I wondered if you had this hat instructions for a 4/5 year old?
ReplyDeleteHi, I’m not sure if you are taking questions anymore on this pattern as the other postings look to be some time ago. I read above that the s1 at the beginning of row 17 should be purl-wise, correct? However, since the s1 is purlwise, does the yo need to be at the back of the needle? Thank you for your help in advance.
ReplyDeleteI slip the first stitch of each row knitwise, and knit the last stitch of every row. This gives a neat and even edge. M
DeleteI know this post is from 2014 but I am looking at it and was wondering what some of the abbreviations are. Is there a key for them somewhere? Thank you!
