Baby Knitting Patterns

What do you think about buying pattern leaflets or booklets from yarn manufacturers? Why pay for patterns when there are so many free patterns out there on the wonderful worldwide web ....... ? Well, I usually prefer free ~ or I make my own ~ but sometimes you just can't beat patterns that were designed specifically for particular yarns.

I like this booklet of 13 baby designs from Sirdar ~ all of the patterns are cute and I will make all of them
~ so the price I paid is worth it !

Cute eh?

  1. I agree on what you say. I hate it when I buy a book and end up just making ONE project from it :-S But yours is worth it! All your projects are so lovely ♥ Ana BC

  2. Don't forget library books! They are a great source of patterns. i use them and Ravelry a lot. But I also think shop-bought patterns can be special. I'm actually knitting a baby jumper from one now and I can tell it will become a favourite pattern. But I simply don't know how the prices of patterns can be justified. Some are no more than a leaflet and can't have cost much to publish.

  4. You are so talented with your projects - they always look exactly like the pictures or better (mine not so much!)

  5. I've just discovered your blog and can't thank you enough for all the patterns you've posted. I already had the topdown dress from another site but, I don't think it was attributed to you. Maybe I'm wrong as they'd posted it saying how so many had liked her crochet version and had requested a knitted one, so I don't really know if that was you or not.
I have quite a few vintage patterns and a book of utility knitting, with everything from knickers to suits. I just love reading the patterns. I'm about to sort through them and see which ones I can bear to part with. I moved to a much smaller property a year ago and have to minimise all my goods and chattels. Would you like any when I've sorted them? I would obviously give you all the details so you could choose.
Best wishes and many thanks again, Susan
