Any DK yarn (around 12g – 14g of acrylic DK)

4mm needles

 

Tension / Gauge ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)

Instructions ~

Cast on 56sts

Knit 4 rows

Row 5:   S1, * yon, s1, k1, psso, k2tog, yrn, p1, repeat from * to end

Row 6:   S1, * p4, k1, repeat from * to end

Row 7:   S1, * k4, p1, repeat from * to end

Row 8:   S1, * p4, k1, repeat from * to end

Repeat rows 5 – 8 four times more

Shape Crown

Row 1:   S1, * k5, k2tog, repeat from * to last 6sts, k6

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10:   S1, purl to last stitch, k1

Row 3:   S1, * k4, k2tog, repeat from * to end

Row 5:   S1, * k3, k2tog, repeat from * to end

Row 7:   S1, * k2, k2tog, repeat from * to end

Row 9:   S1, * k1, k2tog, repeat from * to end

Row 11:  S1, * k2tog, repeat from * to end

Row 12:  S1, * purl to last st, k1

 

Cut off yarn, leaving a tail. Thread tail onto a needle and pass through remaining stitches. Pull to gather up.

Sew side seam. Weave in ends.
