The preparations for the festive season often leave me in a rush.
So much to do ....... so little time for crafting!
However, these 4" Stockings are a joy to knit.
They are simple and easy - and take just 15minutes each.
I have made hundreds of little stockings for fundraising over the past 10 years.
I wish I had thought of this sooner!

Christmas in a Hurry ~ 15-minute Christmas Stocking
Using two strands of DK yarn knitted
together & 5mm or 6mm needles ~
Cast on 12sts (leaving a 6” 'tail' to use
later for the hanging cord)
Knit 2 rows
Beginning with a knit row, work in
stocking stitch (one row knit, one row purl) for 12 rows
Shape the heel as follows -
Row 1: K8, turn
Row 2: P4, turn
Row 3: K6, turn
Row 4: P8, turn
Row 5: K10, turn
Beginning with a purl row, work in
stocking stitch (one row knit, one row purl) for4 rows
Shape the toe as follows -
P2tog all across row (6sts)
K2tog all across row (3sts)
Break off the yarn, leaving a 'tail' to sew
up side seam.
Thread the yarn on to a needle and
thread it through the remaining stitches.
Pull tightly and fasten off.
Sew the side seam.
For the hanging cord, simply tie a knot on the 2 strands of the cast on
'tail'.
Decorate as desired – with a ribbon bow, button or other embellishment.
