Stripes are classic - and there are so many colour combinations to choose from!
Simple 2-colour stripes are a great place to start.
This cute cardigan looks great in pastel or bright colours.
2-colour stripes look really good with white, grey or navy as the main or contrast colour
Have some fun - see what you colours you have in your stash....
If you don't mind darning away lots of ends then use lots of colours instead of just two!
Or why not make a sporty version in your team colours?

It's a lovely little cardigan Marianna, I love stripes especially when it's only two because you can carry the wool up the sides and there aren't many ends to weave in. Thank you for another lovely pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely baby-shape cardigan.

i just LOVE STRIPES!!! and these cute baby cardigans are not the exception. They are super cute, Marianna. I will have to make one soon ;-)
ReplyDeleteSuper! ♥ What a cute, cute cardigan. Both are pretty, I like the one in mint/turquoise tones especially :-). Thank you so much for the pattern, dear Marianna, and a general big thank you for always sharing your great patterns!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening :-). Nata xxx
Super cute and so nice of you to give examples of striping patterns! Thanks for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern and am going to give it a go. Whilst I have never done one, I understand that the front and back are knitted together thus creating one seam to sew at the end down the side. However I'm a bit stumped with the instruction just after the shape armholes section "Continue on first front only" Could you please explain a bit more.
Thanks
Hello, loving knitting this pattern, but I'm not a knitting expert by any means, please could you tell me how to do the button holes. Thank you
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic pattern. Nice of you to put some colour variation styles for people to look at too. Thank you very much

ReplyDelete'Shaping arm hole', row: p25, c/off 6, p54, c/off 6, p24... Well that doesn't add up to 117 St. I have knitted it twice in two different ways and it isn't working. Please help me get this right.
ReplyDeleteIf you include the stitches you use to C/O 6, you have two stitches left over. 25+7+54+7+24 = 117. After that, the directions get hazy. I don't know what 'Continue on first front only means.'
DeleteI'm trying this pattern and I got to the armholes and became throroughly confused. What does 'Continue on first front only' mean?
ReplyDeleteafter youve completed cast off sections you should see three sections separated by the cast offs. Two fronts and the back. Work on the section you still have the yarn attached to first. This is a front. Then you complete the back section (middle section on needles) and finally the other front.
