I love writing preemie baby patterns - there is such a need for them
- and especially cute and easy patterns for the boys.
I think this design works for both boys & girls,
so I have called it Jack & Jill
Jack & Jill ~ Premature Baby Cardigan Jackets |
Note - if you are a traditionalist - and prefer the buttons on the opposite side for a girl - then make the buttonholes at the end of the row instead of the beginning :)

ReplyDeletePlease can I ask.... What does kbf stand for ??
ReplyDeleteKnit front and back into the same stitch, increased one stitch
DeleteIf I wanted to increase it for a newborn, what number of stitches could I use incrementally? It's lovely and I have a new granddaughter on the way.
ReplyDeleteeach pattern goes up 4 stitches and each slip on needle holder goes up 2 so id say 63 or 67 stitches
Deletejust what I needed. I knit for preemie unit in our local hospital.More preemie patterns please.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful pattern so easy to to do I'm knitting for Ormskirk hospital.

ReplyDeleteJust knitted this in lemon, so very cute and easy to do. Thank you. It will probably go to CHNDS - which is my local hospital here in France, to join the many hats already donated.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern! I knit for my local hospitals NICU for premie babies!
ReplyDeleteThank you looking for patterns for my friends aunt - baby at 30 weeks weighs 2lb going to be delivered early due to start of placenta abruption- she lost her last baby at 26 weeks to same condition- born sleeping - will also make for my friends charity Precious babies Cumbria as they donate clothes to lots of new natal units x
ReplyDeleteI’m knitting for prem babies has my grandson was 6 weeks early. Enjoy knitting and giving back to this great ward
ReplyDeleteI love this little preemie knit - my first knit from your patterns. I've done Tiny Topaz, Nevis, Ben, Danika (my fave), Kinzi (2nd fave), Lazy Daisy, Little Bibi, Evie and lots of hats and booties all for the NICU unit at my local hospital (Peterborough, UK). I'd really like some little shorts to go with the Jack & Jill or Evie - an all in one version, if you have any plans for this. I've tried to adapt one myself. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteEasy to follow pattern i have knitted 2 and will knit more for my local hospital, once covid over.
ReplyDeleteLove these patterns so easy...have just started knitting for preemies and I'm really enjoying giving to charity and keeping me busy at same time. Thanks
