Requirements ~

Yarn  –  any DK  I used 46g of acrylic DK     

Needles  – 4mm throughout 

3 small buttons

 

Tension –

22sts over 4” / 10cm   

 

Worked from the top down


Cast on 49sts

Rows 1 & 2     Knit

Row 3              K2, yon, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), k to end of row

Rows 4 & 5     Knit

Row 6              K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 7              K5, *k1, kfb, repeat from * to the last 6sts, k6                                    68sts

Row 8              K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 9              Knit

Row 10            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 11            K6, *k2, kfb, repeat from * to the last 8sts, k8                                    86sts

Row 12            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 13            Knit

Row 14            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 15            K3, *k3, kfb, repeat from * to the last 7sts, k7                                    105sts

Row 16            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 17            K2, yon, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), k to end of row

Row 34            K26, cast off 31sts for the cap sleeve, k46, cast off 31sts for the cap sleeve, k25 

 

(You will now have 26sts for the front, 47sts for the back and 26sts for the front on the needle – work across all 99sts as follows) ~

Row 36            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

Row 37            * (K8, kfb), repeat from * to last 9sts, k9                    109sts

Row 38           K5, purl to last 5sts, k5

 

Row 39           K5, *k2tog, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k2tog, repeat from * to last 5sts, k5

Row 40           S1, knit to end

Row 41           S1, knit to end

Row 42            K5, purl to the last 5sts, k5

The last 4 rows form the pattern
