Easter Eggs


This pattern was a recent Friday Night Mystery Knit

I gave a pattern without a name or description.

So ..... knitters just followed the instructions ...... and this is what resulted.
Wonderful! 







Easter Egg

Smaller Size

Cast on 5sts
Row 1:          Kfb in first 4sts, k1             (9sts)
Row 2:          Purl
Row 3:          (K1, kfb) 4 times, k1          (13sts)
Row 4:          Purl
Row 5:          (K2, kfb) 4 times, k1          (17sts)
Row 6:          Purl
Row 7:          (K3, kfb) 4 times, k1          (21sts)
Row 8:          Purl
Row 9:          Knit
Row 10:        Purl
Repeat the last 2 rows twice more
Row 15:        (K3, k2tog) 4 times, k1       (17sts)
Row 16:        Purl
Row 17:        (K2, k2tog) 4 times, k1       (13sts)
Row 18:        Purl
Row 19:        (K1, k2tog) 4 times, k1        (9sts)
Row 20:        Purl
Row 21:        (K2tog) 4 times, k1             (5sts)
Cut yarn, leaving a ‘tail’  to use or joining
Thread the tail into a sewing needle, pull it through all remaining stitches and gather together
Join side seam most of the way – leaving an opening. Fill with polyester stuffing. Sew the rest of the seam closed. Darn away ends.

Now the fun part !

Decorate ….. as the mood takes you 😊 (or leave it plain)

AQUARIUS Baby Cardigan  ~  Large Preemie


Sizes include ~ 
small preemie, medium preemie, large preemie, newborn and 3 - 6 months
AQUARIUS Baby Cardigans  ~ 
Small Preemie and 3 - 6 months

A traditional cardigan with a buttoned front.
There are instructions for short or long sleeves.
AQUARIUS Baby Cardigan  ~ 
Large Preemie with short sleeves

These cardigans are knitted from the top down - with borders included - and just 2 small sleeves to join.
Each size requires less than 100g DK yarn and 4mm needles.

Perfect for boys, girls and ‘don’t know yet’ babies.

Teeny Tiny Levi Keepsake

 Many, many knitters have enjoyed making my super easy Levi Lovie Comforter.

Yesterday a charity group asked if I could make a tiny version as a keepsake.

I hope you like it - it really is teeny tiny ! 


Teeny Tiny LEVI the Lovie


Requires ~

DK yarn
4mm needles for the main part, 3.5mm needles for the head

Cast on 2sts

Row 1:       Kfb, k1
Row 2:       K1, kfb, knit to end
Repeat Row 2 until you are have 16sts on your needle
Next Row:  K2, k2tog, knit to end
Repeat the last row until you have 6sts left on your needle

Make the head ~

Change to 3.5mm needles
Knit 1 row
Purl 1 row

S1, kfb, k1, kfb, k2
Purl 1 row

S1, kfb, k3, kfb, k2                                         (10sts)
Purl 1 row

Work 8 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row)

S1, s1, k1, psso, knit to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
Purl 1 row
Repeat the last 2 rows once more                    (6sts)

Cast off

Fold the head in half
Join the sides of the head

Add features to the face

Make the Ears ~
Using a length of the yarn, create ears by sewing a line across the top of the head at each side.

Sew the gap at the back of the neck closed.
Darn away ends.
Add a length of yarn round the neck and tie in a bow.

Friday Night Mystery Knit #13

I hope you enjoy this latest Friday Night Mystery Knit 

And please remember not to add photos or comments on any social media group that would spoil the fun for others ! 




Requirements:

A small amount of DK yarn  ~  any colour will be suitable

3.5mm needles if you have them ......
OR use 3.75mm if you are a tight knitter, or 3.25mm if you are a loose knitter 

A little polyester stuffing 
(Please do not let this put you off at this point. If you are imagining a toy - and worrying about adding a face - I promise that this is not the case!) Trust me ! :) 


Mystery Knit          #13
