Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband

Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband

My Warm Tweedy Neckwarmer, Hat and Mittens are very popular ~ and I thought a matching Earwarmer would be cute too.

It is so quick and simple to knit........ and so cosy!

Warm Tweedy Earwarmer Headband

Use 2 strands of DK yarn (8ply) knitted together ~ or any combination of yarns to make a total of 16ply.               This gives a nice ‘tweedy’ look

(Or use one strand of UK chunky weight yarn)

6½ mm needles

Tension:

14sts = 4” (10cm) over stocking stitch

Size:

Width – 5” (13cm)

Length – 16 - 18”  (depending on the size required)

Instructions:

Cast on 17sts

1st Row:  K1, *k3, p1, repeat from * to last 4sts, k4

2nd Row:  K2, *p1, k3 repeat from * last 3sts, p1, k2

Repeat these two pattern rows until around 18”, ending after completing a 1st row

Cast off

Join the cast on and cast off edges with a short seam.  Darn away ends

Wrap a length of yarn around the join to gather the Earwarmer if desired.
