Jack & Jill Baby Hats

I have had many requests for bigger sizes of my popular little Jack & Jill Baby Hats.

Jack & Jill Hat            0 - 3 months Baby     -  13“ circumference, 6“ high

 

 

Using 4mm needles & DK yarn, cast on 65sts

 

Border ~

 

1st Row:  S1, knit to end of row

 

Repeat this row 3 times more

 

Pattern ~

 

5th Row:  S1, knit to end of row

 

6th Row:  S1, *p3, k1, repeat from * to end

 

Repeat the last two rows until work measures 4½ “

 

 

Shape Top ~

 

Next Row:         *K6, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (57sts)

 

Next Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1     

 

Next Row:         *K5, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (49sts)

 

Next Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1     

 

Next Row:         *K4, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (41sts)

 

Next Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1     

 

Next Row:         *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (33sts)

 

Next Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1     

 

Next Row:         *K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (25sts)

 

Next Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.

 

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining loops and secure
