Little Eliza - Preemie Baby or Baby Doll Cardigans

 Sometimes I add a pattern and know straight away that it is going to be a runaway success! 

That's what happened with my latest design ...... so here are the preemie baby sizes - which are also suitable for baby dolls too of course. 

These are so sweet!

Little Eliza Baby Cardigan    ~     Small Premature

 

Size:
Width:         11”

Length:        5½"

 

Tension: 

22sts = 4" (10cm)

 

Requires:

Around 22g – 25g of DK (8ply) yarn

4mm needles

3 buttons

 

Instructions:

Cast on 47sts

Rows 1 & 2   S1, knit to end
Row 3          K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row
Row 4          S1, knit to end

Row 5          S1, knit to end
Row 6          K4, purl to last 4sts, k4

Row 7          K8, kfb, k1, kfb, k3, kfb, k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k1, kfb, k3, kfb, k1, kfb, k9

Row 8          K4, purl to last 4sts, k4

Cast off knitwise      

 

Make Long or Short Sleeves ~

 

Long Sleeves ~ Both Alike

 

Put the 22sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle

Row 1          S1, knit to end

Row 2          S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last 2 rows until the sleeve measures around 3” 

Next Row     K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog           (20sts)

Knit 4 more rows

Cast off

 

Short Sleeves ~ Both Alike

 

Put the 22sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle

Row 1          S1, knit to end

Row 2           S1, purl to last st, k1

Knit 5 rows

Cast off

 

Make the second sleeve in the same way

Sew up sleeve seams

Gather together underarms

Darn away ends

Sew on buttons
