4mm needles

Instructions:

Cast on 65sts

Work 8 rows in k1, p1 rib

** Knit 2 rows

11^th Row:  S1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

12^th Row:  S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end     **

 

Repeat from ** to ** twice more

 

Knit 2 rows

23^rd Row:   S1, knit to end

24^th Row:   S1, purl to last st, k1

 

25^th Row:   S1, knit to end

26^th Row:   S1, purl to last st, k1

 

Shape the top ~
1^st  Row:             S1, *(k2tog tbl, k5), repeat from * to last st, k1
2^nd Row:             S1, purl to last stitch, k1
3^rd Row:              S1, *(k2tog tbl, k4), repeat from * to last st, k1
4^th Row:              S1, purl to last stitch, k1
5^th Row:              S1, *(k2tog tbl, k3), repeat from * to last st, k1
6^th Row:              S1, purl to last stitch, k1
7^th Row:              S1, *(k2tog tbl, k2), repeat from * to last st, k1
8^th Row:              S1, purl to last stitch, k1
9^th Row:              S1, *(k2tog tbl, k1), repeat from * to last st, k1

10^th Row:            S1, purl to last stitch, k1

11^th Row:            S1, *k2tog tbl, repeat from * to last st, k1

12^th Row:            S1, p2tog across row

Cut off yarn (leaving a long ‘tail’ to use for sewing up), draw the end through all stitches, pull up tightly.
Sew up the seam.  Darn away ends.
