Sweet Angel Baby Hat and Bonnet

Another little Angel Baby free pattern for you all .........
 
Please check with the charities you like to knit for if these are suitable........
And I would love it if you would let me know if they are welcomed !

Sweet Angel  Baby Hat & Baby Bonnet
 
 

Sweet Angel Baby Hats
 
I used DK yarn and 4mm needles for these ~
(You can also use 4ply and 3.25mm needles if you want even smaller hats)
 

 
 


Small Angel Baby Hat

Cast on 51sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, * k2tog across row               (26sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last two rows 5 times more

Shape Crown ~
Row 17:  K2tog across row                      (13sts)
Row 18:  P1, * p2tog across row              (7sts)

Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam
Darn away ends


Medium Angel Baby Hat

Cast on 57sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, * k2tog across row               (29sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last two rows 6 times more

Shape Crown ~
Row 19:  S1, * k2tog across row              (15sts)
Row 20:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 21:  S1, knit to end
Row 22:  S1, * p2tog across row              (8sts)

Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam
Darn away ends


Large Angel Baby Hat 
 
Cast on 63sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, * k2tog across row               (32sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last two rows 8 times more

Shape Crown ~
Row 23:  K2tog across row                     (16sts)
Row 24:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 25:  S1, knit to end
Row 26:  P2tog across row                     (8sts)

Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam
Darn away ends





Small Preemie Baby Hat

Cast on 69sts
Knit 5 rows
Row 6:  S1, * k2tog across row               (35sts)
Row 7:  S1, knit to end
Row 8:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last two rows 9 times more

Shape Crown ~
Row 27:  S1, *k2tog across row               (18sts)
Row 28:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 29:  S1, knit to end
Row 30:  P2tog across row                      (9sts)

Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam
Darn away ends

Sweet Angel Baby Bonnets
 
I used DK yarn and 4mm needles for these ~
(You can also use 4ply and 3.25mm needles if you want even smaller bonnets)
 
You also require a length of satin ribbon
 
 
 
 
Small Angel Baby Bonnet
Cast on 40sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, * k2tog, k1, repeat from * to end               (27sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  K2, purl to last 2sts, k2
Repeat the last two rows 5 times more
Shape Crown ~
Row 17:  S1, * k2tog across row                                 (14sts)
Row 18:  P2tog across row                                          (7sts)
Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam from top as far as halfway down the opening to the top of the border
Darn away ends
Cut ribbon in half and sew to each side of bonnet
 
Medium Angel Baby Bonnet
Cast on 44sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, k1, * k2tog, k1, repeat from * to end         (30sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2
Repeat the last two rows 6 times more
Shape Crown ~
Row 19:  K2tog across row                                         (15sts)
Row 20:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 21:  S1, knit to end
Row 22:  S1, * p2tog across row                                (8sts)
Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam from top as far as halfway down the opening to the top of the border
Darn away ends
Cut ribbon in half and sew to each side of bonnet
 
Large Angel Baby Bonnet
Cast on 49sts
Knit 3 rows
Row 4:  S1, * k2tog, k1, repeat from * to end               (33sts)
Row 5:  S1, knit to end
Row 6:  K2, purl to last 2sts, k2
Repeat the last two rows 8 times more
Shape Crown ~

Row 23:  S1, * k2tog across row                                 (17sts)
Row 24:  S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 25:  S1, knit to end
Row 26:  S1, *p2tog across row                                  (9sts)
Break yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, draw up tight and secure.
Join back seam from top as far as halfway down the opening to the top of the border
Darn away ends
Cut ribbon in half and sew to each side of bonnet
