Long Sleeves ~ Both Alike
With right side facing, rejoin yarn to 42sts of first sleeve

Row 1              Knit into front & back of first st, knit to last st,  knit into front & back
Row 2              S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 3               S1, knit to end of row
Row 4              S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 5               S1, knit to end of row
Row 6              S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 7               S1, knit to end of row
Row 8              S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 9               S1, k2tog, knit to last 3sts, k2tog, k1              (42sts)
Row 10            S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 11            S1, knit to end of row
Row 12            S1, purl to last st, k
Row 13            S1, knit to end of row
Row 14            S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 15            S1, knit to end of row
Row 16            S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last 8 rows 4 times more                                                 (34sts)
Knit 7 rows
Cast off

Short Sleeves ~ Both Alike
Put the 42sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.

With right side facing –
Row 1           S1, knit to end of row
Row 2           S1, purl to last st, k1
Repeat the last 2 rows four times more
Knit 5 rows
Cast off knitwise

Make the second sleeve in the same way

Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarm
Darn away ends
Sew on buttons
You will find the matching hat at ~

  5. Thank you so much for your designs. I've knitted a number of them for gifting. Nevis especially was a highly appreciated one which I've knitted several times.What about creating some bigger sizes? Babies grow up so quickly.

  6. I cannot see the garter bands in the pattern. They should be adjacent to the button holes?

    1. Silly me, it's knitted from the top down. We are used to knitting from the bottom up in Australia.

  7. I need help! I've finish the body of the cardigan and just started the long sleeves. I chose the 9-12 months size pattern.
    I put the 42 sts onto a circular needle (size 6 - 16") FYI: I hate circular needles!!!! The yarn is stretching so much around the circular needle. How has anyone else done the sleeves?
