Requirements ~

DK (8ply) yarn

4mm needles

 

Tension ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)

 

 
Charlie Premature Baby Blanket

 

Measurements ~

Width:        17 " (43cm)

Length:      adjustable ......... I made mine 20" (51cm)

 

Pattern Instructions ~


Cast on 92 stitches

 
Start with a garter stitch border - knit 10 rows

 
11th Row:       S1, knit across row

 
12th Row:       S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

 
13th Row:       S1, k4, * k2, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, k7

 
14th Row:       S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 3sts, k3

 
15th Row:       S1, knit across row

 
16th Row:       S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

 
Repeat the last 6 rows until blanket measures  

Finish with a garter stitch border – knit 11 rows

Cast off knit wise

Darn away ends


If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~

then reduce or add in multiples of four stitches ...

  12. Is this blanket done with a variegated yarn? It looks like two separate colors used; rows are same colors.

    1. No - this is not variegated yarn - the pattern stitch has lots of texture and it makes it look this way with just a self-coloured yarn. M xx
