Nina Baby Hat

We all have our favourite patterns, that we return to again and again.
 
But sometimes ......... we need a change ............
 
It's good to try something new.
 
This baby hat is just a little bit different.

Nina Baby Hat           0 - 3 months
 
 
Size:
Width:     ~      6 “ (15.25cm)   12” (30.5cm) all around 
 
Height:                ~      6 “ (15.25cm)
 
Requirements:
Around 20 - 22g of DK yarn
 
4mm needles  
 
Pattern:
 
Cast on 66sts
 
1st Row:          S1, knit to end
Repeat the last row 8 times more
10th Row:         K3, *(p4, k3), repeat from * to end               
11th Row:          K3, *(sl 1 purlwise, k1, yo, psso the k1 and yo) twice, k3, repeat from * to end
12th Row:         K3, *(p4, k3), repeat from * to end
Rows 11 & 12 form the pattern
Repeat these 2 rows 13 times more
39th Row:         K3, *(sl 1 purlwise, k1, yo, psso the k1 and yo) twice, k3, repeat from * to end
40th Row:         K2tog, k1, *(p4, k3), repeat from * to end     65sts
 
Shape the top  ~
1st  Row:          (K6, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                      57sts
2nd, 4th,6th,8th,10th , 12th Rows:  S1, knit to end
3rd  Row:          (K5, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                     49sts
5th  Row:          (K4, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                     41sts
7th  Row:          (K3, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                     33sts
9th  Row:          (K2, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                     25sts
11th  Row:        (K1, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                     17sts
13th  Row:        (K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1                             9sts
14th Row:         S1, knit to end
Cut yarn (leaving a long ‘tail’ to use for sewing up), draw the end through all stitches, pull up tightly.
Sew up the seam.  Darn away ends.
