  1. That's a perfect shape for a newborn as they tend to be very bulky around the waist because of the nappy. I love the buttons

  2. This is lovely Marianna, do you ever sleep? xxx

  3. Another lovely easy one....personally I would make it shorter to come to the waist as I find they need to be fuller below the waist to accommodate all the padding....:) Love your patterns and cant wait to see the variations people make....

    1. That's why I didn't add buttons all down the front - Caroline. If it is a bit more open there is plenty room for bulky padding. Glad you like it. :)

  4. I checked your abbreviation "yrn" yarn around needle. According to the video I saw "Stitch a Day" it starts from the purl position. Your' s are all knit stitches. Is there a different meaning? How would I do this from a knit position? Or, is this a yo? I know different terms can be used in the UK. Thanks Tancie

  5. PLEASE can you help me to make this pattern larger (for 18 months +)? I love your patterns and have knitted lots of them but now my twin granddaughters are growing up and I need something bigger!! Is there a magic formula to make your patterns larger?!! Thank you

    1. Hi sally. I’ve just seen your question and I love Marianna’s patterns too. You’ve probably worked out how to make them bigger (and your twins will be well out of them now) but for future grandchildren, I’ve just done one in Bernat Softee Baby which is a light worsted (Aran weight in Uk and NZ) with the same size needles and the newborn size came out at 18” or 45cm chest. So to get 18months + I would use the 1 year size pattern and adjust the needles and yarn weight. But you probably know all that already ....

      Happy knitting anyway

  6. Hi there, as per one of the previous comments, I am confused re the YRN (which is usually used on a pearl row). Should it be YON (as per a knit row)?
Also, why is there a buttonhole on row 3, when there are only 3 buttons at the top of the garment?
I would really appreciate a response, as I love the pattern and would really like to make it. Thanks

    1. The pattern is worked from the top down that is why the buttonhole is a the top
