I loved making this sideways scarf from small scraps of yarn.

Sideways Scrappy Scarf |
It was so easy to knit - and it was fun to see how the oddments all worked together. I chose a variety of colours ~ turquoise, aqua, grey, green, yellow, lime green, beige, blue, cream and sage green.
All acrylic DK yarns left over from other projects.
This scarf is worked longways in garter stitch - every row knit.
And the best bit ? There is no need to darn away the ends from all those different colours!
Simply tie 2 coloured 'tails' together at each row end, and leave them to be the fringed edges. What could be simpler ?
Requirements ~
I used long straight 4mm needles - but a circular needle would be just great
Oddments of DK yarn in colours that look good together
Instructions ~
Cast on 150sts, leaving a 'tail' of 5" or 6" at each end.
Knit every row - changing colour for very row, and remembering to leave a tail at each end.
When you have used 2 colours, tie the tails together at both row ends. And repeat this throughout.
When you have used all the colours once - you can choose to repeat the colour sequence several times over - or you can work them in a random order !
Cast off when you are happy with the width of your scarf. (Around 4")
Trim off the tails to make a neater fringe.
My scarf is for a child ....... for a teen or adult - simply cast on more stitches (180 perhaps) and knit a few more rows.

I love the colors you mixed together. Very cute.
