Size:

Width:    4½", 11.5cm all around 

Length:   4", 10cm

 
Requires:

DK yarn ~ around 10 - 12g

4mm needles
 
Length of ribbon


Pattern:        Make two mittens the same

Using 4mm needles cast on 24sts

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 5 rows

6th Row (eyelets):  S1, yrn, k2tog, * k1, yrn, k2tog, repeat from * to the end

7th Row:        Knit to last 2sts, k2tog                                                23sts

8th Row:        S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

9th Row:        S1, knit to end

10th Row:       S1, k1, * p4, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

11th Row:       S1, knit to end                            

12th Row:       S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

13th Row:       S1, knit to end

14th Row:       S1, k1, * p4, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat the last 4 rows twice more

23rd Row:       S1, knit to end

24th Row:       S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

25th Row:       S1, knit to end

26th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

27th Row:       S1, knit to end

28th Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

                            

Shape the top ~

Next Row:    K1, s1, k1, psso, k6, k2 tog, k1, s1, k1, psso, k6, k2tog, k1          (19sts)

Next Row:    S1, purl to last st, k1

Next Row:    K1, s1, k1, psso, k4, k2 tog, k1, s1, k1, psso, k4, k2 tog, k1              (15sts)

Next Row:    S1, purl to last st, k1

Cast off

Join top and side seam.  Darn away ends
 
Add a ribbon bow

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 7 rows

8th Row (eyelets):  S1, yrn, k2tog, * k1, yrn, k2tog, repeat from * to the end

 
9th Row:        Kfb, knit to last st, kfb                                      29sts

10th Row:       S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

11th Row:       S1, knit to end

12th Row:       S1, k1, * p4, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

13th Row:       S1, knit to end                            

14th Row:       S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

15th Row:       S1, knit to end

16th Row:       S1, k1, * p4, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat the last 4 rows three times more

29th Row:       S1, knit to end

30th Row:       S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

31st Row:       S1, knit to end

32nd Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

 

Shape the top ~

Next Row:    K1, s1, k1, psso, k9, k2 tog, k1, s1, k1, psso, k9, k2tog, k1             (25sts)

Next Row:    S1, purl to last st, k1

Next Row:    K1, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2 tog, k1, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k1          (21sts)

Next Row:    S1, purl to last st, k1

You do have a lot of patterns, you have been a treasure to me since I discovered I'm going to be a kind of grandma (my adopted son found his birth sister and she's having a baby, and decided I am the baby's granny. Since she has no parents she has kind of adopted us!). Anyway, the baby patterns are perfect and I am LOVING making them, thank you so very much for sweet, easy patterns.
