Knitted Hearts and Flowers Bunting

So many of you have requested a knitted version of the Hearts & Flowers Bunting - hope you like it.

Knitted Hearts and Flowers Bunting

I made these with DK (8ply) yarn and 4mm needles -
(but you could use a thicker or thinner weight of yarn and the appropriate size of needles) - to achieve bigger or smaller motifs.

Make as many hearts and flowers as you like
and thread them onto a length of wool or fine cord.

Small Knitted Flower
Cast on 42sts
K1, cast off 5sts (2sts on right hand needle),k1, cast off 5sts (4sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 5sts (6sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 5sts (8sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 5sts (10sts on right hand needle), k1, cast off 5sts (12sts on right hand needle)

Cut the yarn leaving an 6” tail
Thread the tail through each of the remaining 12sts and pull tight – then thread through the 12sts a second time and pull tight

Use  the tail from the cast on to join the first and last petals
Shape flower
Sew in ends
