  1. Thank you again Marianna for your premmie patterns

  2. What is S1. I am a new knitter, and unfamiliar with this stitch. Thank you,

    1. Slip one stitch purl-wise. Basically slip your needle through the loop from front to back, but end behind instead. Don't knit or purl, just pass it to your other needle.

  3. Hi, if 85 stitches is 16 inches width, and I increase in multiplies of 6 stitches will 97 stitches give me 18 inches width? (85+6+6)
I love this pattern the charity I knit for need 18x18 inch blankets. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!

    1. YES Lizzie - you are correct ! 97sts will be perfect :)

    2. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I want to make mine about 24 inches wide, so how many stitches would I need. My local baby unit prefer the blankets larger. Thank you. x

    3. To make it that width you will need to add 48 stitches, so your cast on will be 133 stitches. It is 6 stitches for each inch you wish to add.

  4. S1 is slip one stitch without knitting it.

  5. I have to say, this was my first ever knitting pattern. It's amazing for learning how to knit, and I can donate it to a hospital to to even more good!

  6. I dont get the 4mm needle size?? What does that translate in to american needle sizes?

  7. Is it s1 knitting or purl please

    1. I always slip the first stitch of each row knitwise (and knit the last stitch of each row) . M xx
