Dasha Baby Blanket

Are you ready to try a new pattern for a baby blanket ? 


This is what I am knitting at the moment - a sweet little unisex baby blanket.
I have also added instructions for bigger sizes. 




Requires self-coloured DK yarn ~ 
The smallest size 15” uses around 60g of acrylic yarn - the biggest size 30” requires around 250g
4mm needles 



Dasha Baby Blanket

For a Small Preemie Baby ~

Width            15”
Length:         15- 16” – easy to adjust

Cast on 79sts

Border ~

Knit 10 rows

Pattern ~
Row 1:          S1, knit to end
Row 2:          S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6
Row 3:          S1, knit to end
Row 4:          S1, k5, purl to last 6sts, k6
Row 5:          S1, k6, *(k5, p1, k1, p1), repeat from * to last 8sts, k8
Row 6:          S1, k5, p3, *(k1, p1, k1, p5), repeat from * to last 6sts, k6
Row 7:          S1, k4, *(k5, p1, k1, p1), repeat from * to last 10sts, k10
Row 8:          S1, k5, *(p5, k1, p1, k1), repeat from * to last 9sts, p3, k6
Repeat the last 8 rows eleven times more, or until you are happy with the length of your little blanket
Repeat Rows 1 – 4 once more
Finish with a Border ~

Knit 11 rows

Cast off



Sizes:
You can change the size by adding or reducing in multiples of 8 stitches (79 +/- multiples of 8)

Width ~
For a doll / small preemie baby blanket of 15”              Cast on 79sts
For a preemie baby blanket of 18”                               Cast on 95sts
For a newborn baby blanket of 24.5”                           Cast on 135sts
For a baby blanket of around 29” - 30”                        Cast on 159sts

Length ~ Make your blanket square, or a little longer than it’s width.

  3. i have to knit this for my great grandchild. my granddaughter does not want to know the sex and no amount of pleading will change her mind. October due date so that is when I can begin

  4. Just finished this for a baby due 12/08/20. Easy pattern for a beginner, like me, yet provides a lovely result. I made it in the largest size.
