Warm Tweedy Neckwarmer

Here is my latest free pattern for you ~

       a cosy neckwarmer

I really enjoyed making this - but I just can't decide which buttons to use !

Warm Tweedy Neckwarmer

Use 2 strands of DK yarn (8ply) knitted together ~ or any combination of yarns to make a total of 16ply .

I used 1 strand of DK plus 2 strands of 4ply               This gives a nice ‘tweedy’ look
7 ½ mm needles

  1. Hello, this is a gorgeous pattern! I am new to knitting and still learning to read patterns. I'm not sure what the difference between K1, k3 means. Can you help me understand it?

    1. Knit one stitch
      Knit three stitches

    2. Notice it says k1, then *k3 p1. Then it says repeat from * so you repeat k3 p1 across the row to the last FOUR stitched, then k4.

    1. 7.50mm, Jairizinho. If you are not sure what that means do a google search for needle size comparisons. USA, Britian and Australia use different numbers for needles but by using the metric 7.50 it is universal. I used 7mm for this pattern and it is just fine.

    1. There isn't any buttonholes, I think the buttons are just for a final finishing off statement :)

  7. I absolutely adore this neck warmer. Will the child's size be suitable for both a 2 year old and a 5 year old ??

  8. Are the buttons truly just for show? No button holes? So confused!

  11. The knitting is loose enough for the buttons to be pushed through where they are needed. You do not need specific button holes. Made two for my granddaughters - they are gorgeous (the scarf and the children ;) )
