Requires:

DK (8ply) yarn for the short sleeved version

4 or 5 small buttons

Using DK yarn and 4mm needles, cast on 26sts

1st Row: K1, yrn, knit to last st, yrn, k1 28sts

2^nd Row, and every alternate row S1, purl to last st, k1

3rd Row: S1, yrn, *k2tog, yrn, repeat from * to last st, k1 29sts

34th Row: S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows until work measures 8 ½ ” (22cm)

Rib ~

Next Row: S1, yrn, k2tog, p1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 3sts, s1, k1, psso, yrn, k1

Next Row: S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

Repeat the last 2 rows twice more

Cast off in rib

Short Sleeve Ribs (both alike) ~

Put the 29sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.

1^st Row: K1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

2^nd Row: S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end

3^rd Row: S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

4^th Row: S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end

Repeat the last 2 rows once more

Cast off in rib

Make the second sleeve in the same way

Sew up sleeve seams. Darn away ends

Add small buttons

Use the loops down the front as buttonholes

Long Sleeves ~ Both Alike

Put the 29sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle. Rejoin yarn.

With right side facing –

1^st Row: Kfb, knit to last st, kfb 31sts

Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 7 rows

9^th Row: K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog 29sts

Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 7 rows

Repeat the last 8 rows twice more 25sts

(You can adjust the sleeve length at this point)

Next Row: S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

Next Row: S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end

Repeat the last 2 rows twice more

Cast off in rib

Make the second sleeve in the same way

Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms

Darn away ends. Sew on small buttons

Use the loops down the front as buttonholes

Add a cute crochet flower if you like ~

Flower:

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1: ch2, make 11tc into ring, slip stitch to join (12sts)

Round 2: ch2, 4tc into same stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, 5tc into next stitch, slip stitch into next stitch, continue around
There should be 6 petals
