Jubilee Flower Decorations 

I have been making these cute Red, White and Blue Flower Decorations to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee

So cute

This pattern uses UK terminology ~

tc = treble crochet                      htc = half treble crochet     

dc = double crochet                    ch = chain

 

You need a 4mm hook and small amounts of Red, White & Blue DK yarn –

I made a variety of these flower decorations by simply changing the order I used each colour.

 

Using DK yarn and a 4mm hook

First colour ~

Chain 4, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1: ch2, make 13htc into ring, slip stitch to join                                   (14sts)

 

Second colour ~

Round 2:  ch2, make 1htc in each stich all around, slip stitch to join                 (14sts)

 

Third colour ~

Round 3: ch2, 4tc into same stitch, 1slip stitch into next stitch, *5tc into next stitch, 1slip stitch into next stitch, continue around, slip stitch to join      (there should be 7 petals)

Requirements ~

DK yarn (around 14 – 16g)

4mm needles

Buttons, beads or bobbles to decorate

Size ~

Length:  18”

Height:  3”

 

Instructions ~

Cast on 11sts

1^st Row:  Knit

2^nd Row:  Knit

3^rd Row:  Knit to last 3sts, kfb, k2

4^th Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        17sts

15^th Row:  Knit to last 4sts, k2tog, k2

16^th Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        11sts

 

Rows 1 – 26 make one ‘peak’ of the crown

Repeat rows 1 – 26 five times more

 

Knit a row

Cast off

 

Join the short seam

Darn away ends

And decorate as desired ~ with buttons, beads or bobbles.                 

 

 

Child

 

Requirements ~

DK yarn (around 10 – 12g)

3.5mm needles

Buttons, beads or bobbles to decorate

Size ~

Length:  14½”

Height:  2¼”

 

Instructions ~

Cast on 9sts

1^st Row:  Knit to last 3sts, kfb, k2

2^nd Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        15sts

13^th Row:  Knit to last 4sts, k2tog, k2

14^th Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        9sts

 

Rows 1 – 24 make one ‘peak’ of the crown

Repeat rows 1 – 24 five times more

 

Cast off

 

Join the short seam

Darn away ends

And decorate as desired ~ with buttons, beads or bobbles.

DK yarn (around 8 – 10g)

4mm needles

Buttons, beads or bobbles to decorate

Size ~

Length:  13”

Height:   2¼”

 

Instructions ~

Cast on 9sts

1^st Row:  Knit to last 3sts, kfb, k2

2^nd Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        15sts

13^th Row:  Knit to last 4sts, k2tog, k2

14^th Row:  Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more                        9sts

Repeat rows 1 – 24 four times more
