Small Moses Basket for 5" Baby Doll or Teddy

Requirements:

DK yarn

4mm crochet hook

 

Instructions:

This pattern is written in UK terminology.         tr = treble crochet        dc = double crochet

 

Foundation Chain:   chain 24

Round 1:   1tr in third chain from hook, 1tr in same stitch, 1tr in every chain stitch along chain to last chain st, 2tr into last st (24sts),

and then continue in the same way along the bottom of the chain, making 2tr in in first chain stitch, 1tr in every stitch until the last chain st, 2tr into last st, join with a slip stitch   (48sts in the round).

Round 2:   chain 3 and make 1tr into same st, 1tr in next 20sts, 2tr in next 4sts, 1tr in next 20sts, 2tr in next 3sts, join with a slip stitch  (56sts)

Round 3:   chain 2, 1tr in every stitch, join with a slip stitch  (56sts)

Rounds 4, 5 & 6:   repeat round 3

Round 7:   chain 1, 1dc in every stitch, join with a slip stitch (you can work this round in a contrast colour if desired)

Fasten off

 

Handles:

Using the yarn double (that is - 2 lengths of yarn held together) join into 9th stitch from one end of the moses basket, chain 15, miss next 9sts, join into 10th stitch, fasten off

 

Make a second handle on the other side in the same way

Darn away ends.

Perfect for a small doll or teddy! 


 

I made a little Blanket too ~ 

Just a simple little rectangle worked in treble crochet  –  15sts wide and 8 rows in length. 

And I finished it off with a round of double crochet.

Add a little bow if desired.

Easter Baskets ~ Crochet

DK yarn  
3.5mm crochet hook

This pattern is written in UK terminology.         
ch = chain       tr = treble crochet           dc = double crochet       



Easter Basket


Worked in the round


Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:   ch2, work 11tr into ring, slip stitch to join.  (12sts)

Round 2:   ch2 then 1tr in same stitch as ch2, 2tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (24sts)

Round 3:   ch2 then1tr in same stitch as ch2, * 1tr in next stitch, 2tr in next stitch repeat from * all around,  join with slip stitch.  (36sts)

Round 4:  ch2, 1tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch.  (36sts)

Rounds 5 & 6:  repeat round 4

Round 7:  ch1, 1dc in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch.  (36sts)

To make the handle ~
Continue by making a chain of 24stitches and join it with a slip stitch halfway round the basket top (into the 18th stitch)
Now work 1dc into each of the chain stitches, join with slip stitch. 
Fasten off.

Darn away ends
Fill with mini chocolate eggs or other sweet treats !


Little Basket

Worked in the round

Chain 3, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:   ch2, work 11tr into ring, slip stitch to join.  (12sts)

Round 2:   ch2 then 1tr in same stitch as ch2, 2tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch. (24sts)

Round 3:  ch2, 1tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch.  (24sts)

Round 4:  repeat round 3

Round 5:  ch1, 1dc in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch.  (24sts)

To make the handle ~
Continue by making a chain of 16stitches and join it with a slip stitch halfway round the basket top (into the 12th stitch)
Now work 1dc into each of the chain stitches, join with slip stitch. 
Fasten off.
Darn away ends
Fill with mini chocolate eggs or other sweet treats !


Tiny Wee Flower

Chain 4, join with a slip stitch into a ring

To make the petals ~ *ch2, 1tr into ring, ch2, slip st into the ring*, repeat from * to * 4 more times

Sweet Little Easter Baskets

I love writing patterns that are simple to knit .............. but cute too!

Easter Basket



Basket Pattern

Cast on 41sts

Knit 4 rows

Stocking stitch 4 rows

Knit 2 rows

Shape Bottom of the basket

1st Row:        *K8, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                       (37sts)

2nd Row:        S1, *p7, p2tog tbl, repeat from * to end of row            (33sts)

3rd Row:        *K6, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                       (29sts)

4th Row:        S1, *p5, p2tog tbl, repeat from * to end of row             (25sts)

5th Row:        *K4, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                       (21sts)

6th Row:        S1, *p3, p2tog tbl, repeat from * to end of row             (17sts)

7th Row:       *K2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                                       (9sts)

Cut yarn (leaving a short ‘tail’ to use for sewing up), draw the end through all stitches, pull up tightly.
Sew up the seam.  Darn away ends.

Handle:

Cast on 4sts

Knit 45 rows

Cast off

Join onto the opposite side of the basket

Darn away ends

Decorate if desired

Optional:  Cut out a circle of thin card to line the base (around 2¼“ in diameter)

Fill the basket with chocolate mini eggs
