Using white, cast on 21sts
1st Row: S1, * k1, p1, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2
2nd Row: S1, * p1, k1, repeat from * to end
Repeat the last 2 rows once more
Change to red ~
Stocking stitch 6 rows
11th Row: (K5, k2tog) 3 times (18sts)
12th, and every alternate
row: S1, purl to last st, k1
13th Row: (K4, k2tog) 3 times (15sts)
15th Row: (K3, k2tog) 3 times (12sts)
17th Row: (K2, k2tog) 3 times
(9sts)
19th Row: (K1, k2tog) 3 times
(6sts)
21st Row: (K2tog) 3 times (3sts)
22nd Row: S1,
purl to last st, k1
23rd Row: S1, k2tog, psso
Fasten off
Join the seam
Darn away ends
Add a little pom-pom or bobble

Repeat the last 2 rows once more
Add in red ~ and work in stripes - 2 rows red, 2 rows white throughout
Stocking stitch 6 rows
11th Row: (K5, k2tog) 3 times (18sts)
12th, and every alternate
row: S1, purl to last st, k1
13th Row: (K4, k2tog) 3 times (15sts)
15th Row: (K3, k2tog) 3 times (12sts)
