FRINGED MOCCASIN BOOTIES newborn
Requirements:
DK yarn (around 12 - 15g)
4mm needles
A 3.5mm (or 4mm) crochet hook – to pull the
fringes through the cast off edge
Size:
Length of the sole 3½“
Height 2½“
Instructions: Make
2 booties the same
Cast on 32sts
Row 1: K14, kfb, k1, kfb, k15
Row 2: S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 3: K15, kfb, k1, kfb, k16
Row 4: S1, purl to last st, k1
Row 5: S1, knit to end
Row
6: S1,
knit to end
Row
7: S1,
knit to end
Row 8: K1, purl to last st, k1
Row 9: S1, knit to end
Row 10: S1, purl to last st, k1
Row11: K14, k2tog, k4, s1, k1, psso, k14
Row 12: P13, p2tog tbl, p4, p2tog, p13
Row 13: K12, k2tog, k4, s1, k1, psso, k12

Cast off knitwise loosely – use a larger size needle, or a stretchy cast
off
Sew
seam along the sole
Sew
back seam
Darn
away ends
Fold
down the cuff
To make the fringed edging ~
Cut 3” lengths of yarn – you will
need 22 for each bootie
Fold a length in half and use a crochet
hook to pull the loop through a cast off stitch, and then pull the ends of the
length through the loop. Tie securely with a double knot. This is a little fiddly - but it gets easier with practice - and it really is worth it !
Continue around the bootie, putting
one length in each cast off stitch. Trim the ends of the fringes if they are uneven.

DeleteSo, I made the sole a different color because I didn't have enough of one color.. It's actually the first 5 rows of the pattern.
